Poet vs. Artist / Artist vs. Poet..........

Poet vs. Artist / Artist vs. Poet..........
either way you look at it it went very well indeed....
with everyone finishing their work on time, even myself.

We had a great location nestled in amongst the other stalls and with people traffic cutting through most sides,
and as we were open on all sides it seemed to make it less threatening and also more obvious as to what we were doing there and seemed to open up the eyeline to other stall holders etc which it on reflection made it more comfortable.

we were also next to the seven seated circular cycle, whcih was freekin' awesome.

I think with events like this one people are often wary as they are not sure if they are going to be sold something, asked to sign up or take information away, we of course were just there to show people the work, eye candy for the visitors, no leaflets or gubbins just pretty and bizarre artwork and their accompnaying poems  to view.......

the atmosphere was good all day, across the whole site, which was especially useful as the weather was so damn bad.....a pretty constant deluge of rainwater.

all the artwork looked great, and it's hard to have a favourite (especialy if your own work is included!)
but I think one of my favs was Brendan Boyles sculpture for hannah Wilton's poem. I only got to see it on the morning we were setting up and it was a full scale sculpture of a mother earth being tortured and abused by some of man's activity.....very powerful image.

I will post photos up in the next few days...if you have any photos from the event then please send them to us.

A big Thank You must go to PECT for letting us get the artwork into the festival, we all had a lot of fun doing this and it is always good to get our art into the otherwise beige city centre.
